CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Retired Master Sgt. Ronald Alexander Davis, 65, of 8013 Andover Creek Drive, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia.

Born July 12, 1945, at Harlem Hospital, Harlem, N.Y., he was a son of Rebecca Tindal Davis. In his youth, he attended Emmanuel UM Church, Sumter. He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he received several awards and commendations before he retired on July 12, 2005.

Mr. Ernest “Lick” Adams, 59, husband of Thomasena Martin Adams, entered eternal rest Sunday morning, June 20, 2010, in Clarendon Memorial Hospital, Manning.

Born on Nov. 29, 1950, in the River Road section of Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Simel Adams and Neomi Richardson Adams.

He was a lifelong member of Antioch UME Church in Rimini. He attended Manchester High School in Pinewood and after completion of high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

AIKEN, S.C. - Altee Hicks, Sr. 82, widower of Henrietta Wilson Hicks and Lucille Woods Hicks died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Unihealth Post Acute Care of Aiken. He’s the son of the late Allen Hicks and Lucille Bradshaw Hicks. He was born February 4, 1928, in Clarendon County.

AIKEN, S.C. - Altee Hicks, Sr. 82, widower of Henrietta Wilson Hicks and Lucille Woods Hicks died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Unihealth Post Acute Care of Aiken. He’s the son of the late Allen Hicks and Lucille Bradshaw Hicks. He was born February 4, 1928, in Clarendon County.

He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County.

In 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably in the Korean War.

“Mr. Lee is one of the most professional and dedicated educators I have met in my 20 years in the field,” said current LMA Headmaster Dr. Spencer Jordan. “He is so concerned with finding potential in every student while trying to keep his students motivated. He is a role model for all educators.”

Born July 31, 1948, in Manning, he was a son of the late Booker T. Sr. and Margaret Gibson Witherspoon. He graduated from George Washington Carver High School, Miami, Fla. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Miami, Fla.

MURRELLS INLET – Retired Maj. Muriel Keith Hanna, 70, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Charleston, after an illness.

MURRELLS INLET – Retired Maj. Muriel Keith Hanna, 70, died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the VA Hospital in Charleston, after an illness.

He was born in Florence County, a son of the late Murdock and Ida Ginelle Gaskins Hanna. He received his doctorate degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Mr. Hanna was retired from the U.S. Army, where he was a clinical psychologist.

Formerly of Summerton, he was a member of St. Mathias Episcopal Church.
