A five-year-old Sumter girl is in a Columbia hospital in serious condition following a two-vehicle accident at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 27.
Addison Taylor, a 5K student at Laurence Manning Academy, was a restrained passenger in a 1989 GMC truck driven by her father, George Taylor, 37, also of Sumter.
The vehicle driven by Taylor was traveling west on U.S. 76 when he turned left into a private driveway in front of a log truck driven by Walter Ardis, 61, of Sumter that was traveling east on U.S. 76, according to Lance Cpl. Judd Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
