While there has not been any slowdown of bass fishing action on lakes Marion or Moultrie, a lot of fishermen are now finding good action on the local rivers as well. From the Santee, Cooper, Wateree, Congaree, Catawba, Pee Dee, Lynches and Black Rivers, good fishing reports have been received recently. If you like to fish the smaller waters for some up close and personal fishing, the action is beginning to rally heat up right now.

Fighting changing weather and water conditions, especially thunderstorms and strong winds seems to be the rule, not the exception this spring. Some areas have good water coloration there are also places where it’s not so good. You’ll just have to move around to find the right water, since it should be changing almost on a daily basis as upstream water from storms flow though our lakes.

With April weather being an ever-changing mix of wind, rain and sunshine, we’ve still received a lot of reports of excellent fishing recently.  The overall fishing trends on the lakes continue to be outstanding.

Sometimes three’s a crowd when you’re dancing. But when you’re deep in the turkey woods and ole tom is strutting his stuff and dancing his dominance for live hens, a third player can sometimes be the only way to seem to be in two places at the same time.

Despite some recent patches of rainy weather, the overall fishing trends on the lakes continue to be excellent. In fact, according to a number of fishermen, those rainy days, with the heavy cloud cover, created some excellent shallow water fishing for bass and crappie.

Shallow water, spring-time largemouth bass fishing is at a peak right now and with any luck at all, the overall bass fishing should remain at a fairly high level for the next several weeks. But even with all the success spring bass fishing can be complex, or simple, depending on your perspective.
