The football season ended for two of the five Clarendon County teams following the first round of playoff action.

Entering into round two are Clarendon Hall, Manning and Scott’s Branch. All will be on the road.

Clarendon Hall made it one game closer to their ultimate goal with a 35-16 win over Laurens Academy Friday night in Summerton.

After a very successful 9-1 season, Coach Casey Connors is very proud of his Saints and their performances during the season.

“We’re in it to win it,” is what the Clarendon Hall Saints’ banner read.  But in order to win it all, they had to first beat the Wardlaw Academy Patriots in Johnston.  The Saints lost to Wardlaw 52-18.

The Scott’s Branch High School Eagles lost to Timmonsville 24-0 in the second round of the Class A Division II playoffs  in Timmonsville on Friday, Nov. 11. SBHS, a 3-7 team that made it to the playoffs by the skin of their teeth, had a good run. They defeated the heavily favored Whale Branch High School team in the first round of playoffs, but just could not capitalize on that momentum in their game against Timmonsville.

The season is not over for Scott’s Branch High School, a 3-7 team, that defeated the favored 7-3 Whale Branch High School team in the first round of Class A Division II playoffs in Beaufort.

The Wolverines couldn’t keep up with the speed of the Golden Rams, losing 63-22 Friday night in Chesterfield.

Manning, the number 10 seed in the Lower State Class AA Division I playoffs, came from behind to pick up a do or die 8-6 win Friday night against the number seven team, Edisto.

Laurence Manning lost big in the first round of the SCISA Class AAA playoffs to a strong Hammond team, 44-7, Friday night in Columbia.

All five Clarendon County varsity football teams are slated for action in the first round of playoffs this weekend. The only team playing on their home field is Clarendon Hall.

The Saints are no longer undefeated…but maybe that’s not such a bad thing.  Region rival Patrick Henry defeated Clarendon Hall 36-30 in Summerton.

The Swampcats may have scored first, but the Barons put more points on the board in Friday night’s hard hitting win over LMA, 56-13.

Manning’s loss to Lake City Friday night, 24-23, wasn’t as close as the score implied.

One game away from the playoffs, the Monarchs can’t look past the Panthers quite yet.

Lake City, 4-5 on the season and 1-3 in the region, had a good game against Kingstree at home last week beating the Jaguars, 48-0. They look to repeat those winning ways against the Monarchs tonight.

The Scott’s Branch High School Eagles finally got a break that they were looking for with a 38-7 win over C.E. Murray of Kingstree, on Friday, Oct. 28 at Spann Stadium.

East Clarendon defeated Hannah Pamplico Friday night in Turbeville, 34-21.

Scott’s Branch High School Eagles defeated Hannah-Pamplico 6-0 on Friday, Oct. 21, in Pamplico, giving the Eagles a shot at making the playoffs, with one game remaining in the regular season.

Pink is typically a color worn by girls, but at tonight’s football game between Laurence Manning and Porter Gaud, those rough and tough Swampcat players will be sporting hot pink sweat bands.

Clarendon Hall defeated Andrew Jackson Academy 50-12 in JV Football action on Thursday, Oct. 20 in Ehrhardt to finish the season with an undefeated 8-0 record.

The East Clarendon High School Wolverines and Lamar Silver Foxes put on a show in Turbeville Friday night until about four minutes left in the game when Lamar scored twice putting the game away.

The Porter Gaud Cyclones improved their record to 6-3 on the season with a 28-7 win over the Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats in Manning Friday night. The Swampcats fell to 5-5 on the season.

Manning traveled to Andrews Friday night and came away with a victory against the number 39 team in the state, 37-14.

Clarendon Hall remains undefeated after a 60-6 showing in Beaufort.  The weather was cold but the Saints offense was as hot as ever racking up 471 yards of offense. But the Saints defense again was the key to the game stopping the Eagles in the red zone three times.

Even two 70-yard touchdowns called back for holding penalties didn't slow down the Saint's offense in a homecoming football night to remember at Clarendon Hall on Friday, Oct. 14. The Saints shut out Trinity Collegiate 50-0, to continue their undefeated season. They are now 8-0.
