Clarendon Hall’s Lady Saints were victorious in a close game over Patrick Henry’s Lady Patriots on Feb. 3 at home, 33-31.

 

The East Clarendon High School varsity boys lost to the Timmonsville Whirlwinds on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

 

The Lady ‘Cats sandwiched in a win between a pair of losses on the week.

Manning lost a heartbreaker to Lake City in overtime at home on Jan. 31, 52-50.

 

Scott’s Branch High School Varsity Boys gained back-to-back victories against  Hannah-Pamplico and East Clarendon High School last week and lost a close one to Lamar.

The Lady Monarchs won a close game against Kingstree’s Lady Jaguars on Jan. 24 in Kingstree, 53-44.

 

C.E. Murray - 66/Scott’s Branch - 52

 

Scott’s Branch High School’s varsity boys were defeated 66-52 on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at C.E. Murray in Greeleyville.

 

JV Lady Saints - 26/JV Lady Confederates - 11

Clarendon Hall’s J.V. Lady Saints defeated Andrew Jackson’s J.V. Lady Confederates on Jan. 17 at home, 26-11.

 

Lady Swampcats - 40/Lady Cavaliers - 33

The Lady Swampcats won a region game against the Cavaliers on Jan. 17 at home, 40-33.

 

Manning - 64/Timberland - 51

The Monarchs defeated the Wolves in region play on Jan. 17 at home, 64-51.

 

Lamar - 47/Scott’s Branch - 46

Scott’s Branch lost a tight conference game to Lamar on Jan. 17 at home, 47-46.

The Eagles lost a heartbreaker to the Whirlwinds on Jan. 10, at home, 65-54.

Consistent scoring throughout the game contributed to the Scott’s Branch Eagles’ huge win against the Governor’s Science and Math Eagles, 56-24, Jan. 6, at home.

 

Lady Monarchs - 44/Lady Wolverines - 22

 

The Lady Monarchs opened 2012 with a big win Jan. 3, over cross county rival, the Lady Wolverines, 44-22.

 

Manning - 55/East Clarendon - 50

 

The Monarchs won a close game Jan. 3, at John Franklin Thames Gymnasium against cross county rival Wolverines, 55-50.

 

The trip to the finals in the District 9 Officials 14th Annual Christmas Basketball Tournament on Dec. 30, wasn’t easy for the Lady Monarchs.

 

Never let it be said that people in Manning and Clarendon County can’t keep a secret.

 

While dozens knew that a special ceremony was planned for South Carolina’s winningest active women’s basketball coach, the coach didn’t have a clue, or maybe just one, prior to the ceremony.

 

The score might not be etched in stone, but one thing is certain. The Lady Monarchs and Lady Gators know what to expect when they meet for the fifth time this season in the second game of the District 9 Officials Christmas Tournament at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 28 at John F. Thames gymnasium.
