The Lady Panthers of Pinewood Prep rolled over the Swampcats to close out LMA’s State Championship run on Feb. 19. The #1 seeded Panthers had no mercy as they executed a well-oiled game plan against the Lady Cats.
The Monarchs placed Jire Brunson on the Region 6AAA All-Region Team. Brunson averaged over 11 points per game and was 64 percent from the free throw line. He averaged five rebounds per game throughout the season and two steals. Brunson is a graduating senior and will be sorely missed on next year’s Monarch team.
The Swampcats fought a see-saw battle against the Barons on Feb. 5 and eked out the win in the final seconds. In their last home game of the season, the win was fitting to honor the Seniors on the team.
The East Clarendon Varsity Boys lost to Timmonsville on Jan. 22 in Manning, 52-38. East Clarendon is playing at Manning High School for their home games as the ECHS gym floor is being resurfaced.
The LMA Swampcats lost at home to the Ben Lippen Falcons on Jan. 15. The Cats did show improvement from a previous loss to the Falcons earlier this month.
