At the 89th National Conference of the National Society Colonial Dames 17th Century (NSCDXVIIC) held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC, Manning resident Ann Alderman was elected to serve a two-year term as Curator General.

The Pink Dogwood Garden Club met at the Summerton Baptist Church on April 9. President Lil Sconyers called the meeting to order and a lovely devotion was given by Doris Abrams. Seventeen members were present and Evonne Dowell attended as a guest of Estelle Ardis.

 

Virginia’s Pride Garden Club

The Virginia’s Pride Garden Club met at the Breedin Garden room on March 12 with 22 members present and three visitors. Hostesses Debi Cooke and Joyce Marshall served a delicious lemon pie for dessert. The door prize, a small Igloo tote cooler, was won by Catherine Fleming.

The 2013 Striped Bass Festival Pageant was held on Saturday, April 13, at the Weldon Auditorium. There were 72 beautiful Clarendon County ladies vying for one of the eight crowns awarded Saturday night.
