Father’s Day weekend hosted beautiful weather with abundant sunshine and low humidity. Temperatures were near 60 degrees at daybreak and warmed into the lower to middle 80s both Saturday and Sunday. It was the perfect weather for great outdoor activities.
Midway through June, our average temperature has been three degrees BELOW normal, reaching 90 degrees only once.
Just last year on Father’s Day, it was 96 and humid. In fact, June 2011 was the hottest ever with temperatures each day above 90, including two days of 101. Our average temperature was 5 degrees ABOVE normal last year.
Looking ahead to next week, the “reality of June” returns with temperatures reaching the lower 90s at week’s end. The good news is that no extreme heat is expected through the end of the month.
