On July 23, Manning Police Cpl. Tina Mack spoke with a complainant living on the Paxville Highway about her daughter being scammed over the phone. The complainant told Mack that her daughter sent a representative who said he was from a millionaire sweepstakes company $100 on a Green Dot card. The man allegedly told her she would receive $1 million in return. When the man asked for an additional $400, the woman said she would not allow her daughter to send it and she called the police.
