Willie Mae Bellamy “Mickey” Dunham, 47, wife of Virgin Dunham, entered eternal rest on Friday, July 16, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 13, 1962, in Sumter County, she was a daughter of Clara Bellamy and the late Willie Bennett. She was a foster daughter of Luther Bells Sr. and the late Hattie Mae Maple Bells. She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County; she also spent two years in Job Corp in Georgia. She received her cosmetology license from Chris Logan Beauty School in Sumter.
Mrs. Dunham is survived by her husband, Virgin Dunham; a son, Virgil Bellamy; a daughter, Dinatta Renee Green; a granddaughter, Mary Green, all of Sumter; her mother, Clara Bellamy of the Silver community of Manning; two brothers, Harry (Brenda) Neil of Nashville, Tenn., and Clarence L. (Mauretta) Wells of Sumter; a sister, Melissa Maple (Gregg) Bellamy of Sumter; two foster brothers, Luther (Deloris) Bells Jr. and Clarence Bells; four foster sisters, Teresa (Denise) Davis, Salena Goins and Loucretia Conyers, all of Sumter, and Terry (Tyrone) Wright of Charlotte, N.C.; an additional sister-in-law, Louise Vaughn; and a host other relatives and friends.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Nathaniel Maple.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 24, 2010, in the Revelation Sanctuary of Sumter, with the Rev. Terry Dinkins, pastor.
Burial followed in Bethesda Baptist Church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home of Sumter was in charge of the arrangements.
