Willie Edward Greene

Willie Edward Greene, 63, husband of Mary K. Greene, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was born May 7, 1949, in Summerton. He’s the son of the late Levi Greene and Leanese Allen Greene.

He’s a 1969 graduate of Manning Training High School, Manning.

Willie moved to Brooklyn and was employed with UPS for 25 years and retired  in 1996.

Survivors are his wife, Mary K. Greene, a son, Audwin (Shenequa) Greene all of Brooklyn: four sisters, Marylee Blanding, Evelyn Greene, Minnie Ida (Johnny) Dingle all of Brooklyn: Flora (Pernell) Lawson of Santee: one brother, Lee Earnest “Bubba” Greene of Brooklyn: two aunts, Lillie Johnson and Hazel Allen both of Wilmington, N.C.: a brother-in-law, Abraham King of Manning: four grandchildren and two adopted grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at the Hayes F. & LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, Manning.

Burial is in Friendship A.M.E. Church Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the home of his sister and brother-in-law Flora and Pernell Lawson, 2018 Bass Drive, Santee.
