The Turbeville AA Coach Pitch All Star 7 to 8 year olds’ baseball team won the District 9 Championship in Sumter on June 29. 

Turbeville went undefeated in the five district games outscoring their opponents, 61-34.

On June 25, Turbeville beat Sumter National East, 10-5. On June 26, Turbeville defeated Lake Marion National, 11-7. The next day, Turbeville demolished Sumter National West, 15-3, and on June 28, Turbeville took on Sumter National East for the second time during the tournament and came away with a win in a close game, 17-14. To win the district on June 29, Turbeville faced Lake Marion National for the second time during the tournament winning the game, 8-5.

Head Coach Brian Odom said his team played great defense and that everyone hit the ball really well.

“We played some tough competition but we kept our spirits up every night,” he said.

Turbeville will compete in the South Carolina State AA Coach Pitch Championship beginning July 7 in Lexington. Brackets have yet to be determined.
