Stanley Edward Becton, 41, son of Edward and Eliza McCray Becton, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Tuomey Health Care, Sumter. He was born Feb. 3, 1971, in Harlem, N.Y.
He was educated the Bronx, N.Y., Public School System and graduated from Abraham Clark High School. He furthered his education at Lincoln Technical Institute where he obtained a certificate as an Automotive Technician.
He attended Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Summerton.
Survivors are his parents; Edward and Eliza McCray Becton, one daughter; Krystal Becton, one sister; Shameka Becton, one brother Michael (Velvet) Becton; Fiancé, Gwendolyn Edwards; one grandson, Joey; seven aunts, eight uncles.
The celebratory services for Mr. Stanley Edward Becton, will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Historic Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Summerton. Rev. Dr. Willie J. Heggins officiating, Rev Edward Roberts presiding, Rev. Albert Thompson, Rev. Frank Pearson and Evangelist Dukes assisting.
Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery. Mr. Becton will lie in repose one hour prior to service.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his parents, 2192 L & H Pearson Rd., Manning.
