COCONUT GROVE, Fla. - Rudolph Witherspoon, 61, died Sunday, May 2, 2010.
Born July 31, 1948, in Manning, he was a son of the late Booker T. Sr. and Margaret Gibson Witherspoon. He graduated from George Washington Carver High School, Miami, Fla. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Miami, Fla.
Survivors are two daughters, Tracy Hadley and Tangie Spivey; a son, Ronald Stewart; two sisters, Rescena (Charles) Fleming and Peggy Makle; four brothers, Booker T. Jr., Randolph Witherspoon, Anthony Witherspoon and Donald Witherspoon; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Hayes F. & LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel in Manning, with the Rev. Carnell Witherspoon, officiating.
Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
