Rose Ann Nelson

BRONX, N.Y. -- Rose Ann Nelson, 40, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, Bronx.

Born June 15, 1970, in New York, N.Y., she was a daughter of Eugene Nelson Sr. and the late Ruth Blackwell Nelson. She received her formal education at Philip A. Randolph High School, New York, N.Y. In her youth, she attended Hood Memorial AME Zion Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Brittney Rose Nelson; father, Eugene Nelson Sr.; a brother, Levan Blackwell Sr.; four sisters, Delores Bagley, Diane N. Brown, Bobbie Jean Nelson and Yvonne Nelson, all of New York; and a host of aunts and uncles.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Goodwill Freewill Baptist Church, Bloomville community, Manning, with Elder Renel Trevol, pastor, officiating, assisting Evangelist Deborah Trevol.

Burial was in the churchyard cemetery.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
