Robert Lee “Bob” Stephens, 69, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at his home in Manning.
Born in Erie, Pa., on Feb. 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Leo J. Stephens and the late Alice Zimmer Stephens. He was a graduate of McDowell High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Bob was employed at General Electric in Erie and retired from the GE Power Station in 2001. He was a devoted father and grandfather, an avid fisherman and a diehard Steelers fan. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Manning, serving as secretary/director, trustee, and various other positions in the church.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Russell Stephens of Manning; a daughter, Jennifer James and husband Jason of Monterey, Calif.; two sons, David Stephens and wife Spring of Manning; Robert Stephens and wife Char of Indianapolis, Minn.; six grandchildren, Lilly, Evan, Leannan, and Aidan Stephens, Katherine James and Zachary Huff; a brother, Bill Stephens and wife Karen of Erie, Pa. and San Antonio Texas; and several loving nieces and nephews.
The celebratory services for Bob Stephens are to be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at First Assembly of God, Manning, with Parson Sam Neal officiating, assisted by Pastor Larry Ambrose.
There will be a memorial service and interment in the summer of 2013 in Erie, Pa., for family and friends, to be published in the Erie paper at that time.
