Robert C. Johnson, Jr.

Apostle Robert Clarkson Johnson Jr., 48, husband of Valarie Brown Johnson, died Friday, June 4, 2010, at Bon Secours-St.Francis Hospital, Charleston.

Born Dec. 9, 1961, in Bitburg, Germany, he was a son of Robert Sr. and Barbara Wade Johnson. He was a graduate of North Babylon High School and attended Kings College and Tabernacle Bible School. In 1982, he started his ministry and was ordained as elder and in 2009 he was ordained as an apostle. He was the founder of Living Faith Outreach Ministries in Orangeburg.

Survivors are his mother, Barbara Johnson of St. Stephen; wife, Valarie Brown Johnson of the home; six daughters, Shawna Johnson of St. Stephen, Kristen Johnson of Columbus, Ohio, Danielle Johnson of Summerville, Keya Woods of South Hill, N.C., Constance McCutchen of Charleston and Shiquetta McCutchen of Summerville; a son, Aaron Holmes of St. Stephen; three brothers, Ronald (Dianna) Burke, Rodney (Stephanie) Burke and Reginald (Brenda) Burke, all of New York; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hayes F. & LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St., Manning, with Minister John Harrison presiding, Apostle Carrie Ann Butler as eulogist, assisting Apostle Ray Harris, Pastor Rueben Wright, Pastor Betty Wright and Evangelist Traci Williamson. Burial was in Zion Cemetery, St. Stephen.

Samuels Funeral Home LLC of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
