Manning squeaks by ECHS

Manning - 55/East Clarendon - 50

The Monarchs won a close game Jan. 3, at John Franklin Thames Gymnasium against cross county rival Wolverines, 55-50.

Manning had three Monarchs in double figures scoring. Jerrell Frierson scored 14 points. Phillip Henry scored 13 points and Jamal Keels scored 12 points. Ro’Char Witherspoon scored eight points for the Monarchs while Pendergrass scored four points and Jire’ Brunson and Cameron Darley scored two points each.

East Clarendon had two Wolverines in double figures scoring. Carlos Hickson and Nate Rowland scored 12 points each. Mike Miller and Jearl Harrison scored eight points each. Ray Kersey scored six points while Lorell Flemming and Chris McGill both scored two points.

Manning loses by 15 to Crestwood

Crestwood - 75/Manning - 60

The Monarchs took it on the chin against Crestwood on Jan. 4, at John Franklin Thames Gymnasium, 75-60.

The Monarchs had three players in double figures scoring including Phillip Henry who knocked down 21 points for Manning. Jamal Keels finished with 16 points and Ro’Char Witherspoon scored 11. Jire’ Brunson scored eight points. Jason Baxter and Jerrell Frierson both finished with two points.

Crestwood finished with four players in double figures led by Harry Titus’ 21 points.
