The Monarchs defeated the Wolves in region play on Jan. 17 at home, 64-51.

Manning had three scorers in double figures. Phillip Henry scored 16 points, Jamal Keels had 13 points, and Jerrell Frierson scored 12 points. Dontravious Witherspoon dropped in six points. Daniel Pendergrass added five points. Cameron Darley had four points. Breshaun Pendergrass, Ro’Char Witherspoon, Jaylen Hamilton and Jire’ Brunson had two points each.

The win improves Manning’s record to 6-7 on the season, 2-0 in conference play.

Lady Monarchs - 63/Lady Wolves - 26

The Lady Monarchs soundly defeated the Lady Wolves on Jan. 17 at home, 63-26.

From the leading buzzer, Manning was on the board.

The Lady Monarchs played well on both sides of the ball throughout the game.

Karen White led all lady scorers with 18 points, six rebounds and two steals. Alexia Abraham had a great game on the boards with nine points, 14 rebounds, two steals and one assist. Breanna “Bre” Nelson scored nine points with eight rebounds, seven steals and four assists. Shanequa Muldrow scored eight points with one steal and two assists. Monica Nelson scored seven points. Makeba Harvin added in five points. Chelsey Cousar, Lanisha Brown and Imani Bell scored two points each. Kenyatta Taylor finished the game with one point.

Lady Monarchs - 55/Lady Yellow Jackets - 27

The Lady Monarchs had their “A game” going Jan. 20 at home against the Lady Yellow Jackets with a huge win, 55-27.

Leading all ladies in scoring was Manning’s Breanna “Bre” Nelson with 12 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Alexia Abraham had a good game on both sides of the ball with 11 points, six rebounds, seven steals and two assists. Karen White scored nine points with five rebounds, one blocked shot, one steal and two assists. Shanequa Muldrow scored six points with four steals and two assists. Lanisha Brown scored two points with three rebounds, six steals and one assist. Makeba Harvin scored six points, seven rebounds, two steals and one assist. Janesia Hart, Kenyatta Taylor, Imani Bell and Aijaine Harrison scored two points each. Petra York rounded out the scoring with one point.
