Grab your camera, head to Manning and snap a picture of what you consider to be one of the city’s hidden gems.

Your photograph may be a prize winner.

Manning’s hidden gems could be anything from cornices, columns, transom windows, domes, rosettes, building dates, ceiling tiles/medallions, memorials, tiled entrances, granite, interesting knobs or pulls – exterior or interior and arches to fanlights, historic signs and the fox in the Swamp Fox murals.

The Photo Scavenger Hunt is being hosted by Main Street Manning on its Facebook page.

The contest is open to everyone with only a few rules:

  • Entries must be limited to Manning.
  • Your name, address, telephone number and the location of the historic detail (hidden gem) you photographed must be included with your photo submission.
  • All entries must be submitted by noon May 25.
  • One individual can submit more than one photograph for the contest.
  • Submit your photos and information to mainstreetmanning@gmail.com

Log onto Main Street Manning on Facebook. The photograph with the most likes

will be the winner of a prize to be determined by Main Street Manning. The winner will be announced on June 1.

The hidden gem in the above photograph was revealed in early April by workers who were repairing the façade at Goody’s that had been damaged by wind.
