Lake T. Vaugh

Mr. Lake Trent Vaughn, 29, of Sumter, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, in Sumter County. Born Aug. 14, 1980, he was the son of Victor Lipscomb and Alatha Vaughn Lipscomb.

He received his education in the public schools of Sumter County where he attended Sumter High School. He was employed as a brick mason with Jackson Construction Company.

Survivors include his parents; a child that he took as his own, Bennie Hayworth Jr., of Sumter; five brothers, Antonio Vaughn, Gregory Lipscomb, Howard Logan, Tavaugh Chatman and Victor Lipscomb Jr., all of Sumter; seven sisters, Stephanie (Frank) Richburg of Summerton, LaShawda (Robert) Jackson, Kellie Wells and Victoria S. Lipscomb, all of Sumter; Valerie S. Lipscomb of Bishopville, Kimberly Logan of Columbia and Jessica Smith of Washington, D.C.; paternal grandmother, Shirley Winfree of Sumter; maternal grandmother, Hattie Vaughn of Sumter; and maternal great-grandmother, Minnie Lee Prince of Sumter.

Funeral services were held on Monday, April 12, 2010, at Olden Chapel UME Church, Sumter, with the Rev. Roger Mullins, pastor and eulogist, and the Rev. Eugene Winn.

Burial followed in Bradford Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home of Sumter was in charge of the arrangements.
