Josephine Clark Pearson died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born May 5, 1936, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Susie Mae Owens Clark. She was the widow of Joe Pearson Sr. of Clarendon County. Her education was obtained in the public schools of Clarendon County. She was a member of Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ with several years of devoted services.
She is survived by a son, Leonard Pearson of Manning; two daughters, Birdie Pearson and Leemell Pearson, both of Summerton; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joe Pearson Jr.; two brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services were on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ in Davis Station, with Prince Sampson Pearson, pastor, presiding; Apostle John Griffin, eulogist; assisted by the Rev. George Carter, Bishop Leona Griffin and Elder Hattie Weathers.
Interment followed in the Carolina Johnson Cemetery.
Fleming and DeLaine Funeral Home and Chapel of Manning was in charge of the arrangements.
