Joseph Keith Wallace, 25, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia following an unexpected illness.
Born Sept. 3, 1986, in Port Richey, Fla., he was the son of Tommy R. Wallace and Cyndy Godwin Wallace. He was Greens Superintendent at Players Course at Wyboo, a graduate of Laurence Manning Academy, attended and played golf on scholarship at Coker College, and graduated Horry-Georgetown Tech with a degree in golf course management. He was a member of Manning Second Baptist Church. Keith loved to hunt, fish and play golf.
Surviving in addition to his father of Manning and mother of Florence are his maternal grandmother, Frances Godwin Isgett of Scranton; his girlfriend, Kacey Archer of Eutawville; two brothers, Thomas Wallace and his wife Anne of Franklin, Tenn., and Randal Wallace of Myrtle Beach; and two nieces, Meredith and Madison Wallace.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, in the Laurence Manning Academy Gymnasium, with Reverend Phares E. “Pec” Chatham officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens in Manning.
Pallbearers will be Gib Gibbons, Ed Peagler, Will Furse, Scott Jackson III, Jeffrey Timmons, Curt Lee, Dexter Welch and King Cutter.
Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. Moody, Phillip Harris, Patrick Ross, Drey Brunson and Chad Daniels.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, and at other times at the residence, 1054 Country Club Circle, Manning.
Memorials may be made to the Laurence Manning Academy Golf Team, 1154 Academy Drive, Manning.
