John Dingle

John Dingle, 66, died Monday, June 14, 2010, at his residence.

Born Sept. 15, 1943, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Conner and Cora Dingle. He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. Later he was joined in matrimony to Hestell Dingle. He worked as a farmer and for Martin Brothers. He retired from Martin Brothers after years of dedicated service.

Those left to grow from his legacy of love are his loving and devoted wife, Hestell Dingle of the home; two sons, Willie Dingle of Raleigh, N.C., and Richard Dingle of Columbia; a daughter, Virginia Dingle (Joseph) Briggs of Manning; five sisters, Lubertha Brunson of Sumter, Eva (Eddie) Wright, Charlotte Dingle and Catherine (James) Hines, all of Summerton, and Annie Mae (Edward) Carter of New York, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, Jenny M. Briggs, Elizabeth Briggs, Joseph L. Briggs Jr., Sadie Dingle, Kayle M. Briggs, Stacey Dingle, Lisa M. Briggs and Javon T. Briggs; a special sister- in- law, Susie Mae Brunson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Dingle were held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew AME Church with the Rev. Dr. J.A. McDonald, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Summerton Funeral Service, 23 S. Duke St., Summerton, Boatwright Funeral Home of Bishopville and Darlington were in charge of arrangements.
