Jennie Lee Sheriod Dixon

Jennie Lee Sheriod Dixon, 69, wife of Russell Dixon, died Monday July 16, 2012, at her residence in Alcolu. She was born Feb. 14, 1943, in Alcolu, a daughter of the late Saul Sheriod and Rosa Lee “Baby Ray” English and stepdaughter of James English.

She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.

She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Pa.

She was employed with the Women Medical Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.

Survivors are her husband, Russell Dixon; step-mother, Dora Mae English; three sisters, Alena Davis, Rosa Epps and Rosetta Sheriod; one brother, Solomon Sheriod; one step-son, Aaron Dixon and one step-daughter, Sherri Dixon; two step-brothers Jeffrey English and John English; four aunts, one uncle and six brothers and sisters-in-law.

Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Hayes F. & LaNelle J. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 North Church St., Manning.

Rev. Lillian Wright, officiating, Rev. Dr. Leroy Green, presiding, Elder Terry Hilton, assisting.

Burial will follow in Green Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Alcolu.

The family is receiving friends at her late residence 2601 Little Star Rd., Alcolu.
