UPDATE 1/27/12; 9:25 a.m.: A two-vehicle head-on collision on S.C. 260 at 8:10 p.m. Thursday night sent a 16-year-old Manning girl to a Columbia hospital for her injuries.
A 47-year-old Manning man was arrested and charged with felony driving under the influence, driving under suspension, driving a vehicle uninsured and an open container violation, according to Senior Trooper Brent Kelly.
Brittani Steen was driving a 1999 Toyota west on S.C. 260 when a 2006 Ford Truck driven by Clarence Vaughn crossed the centerline and struck the Toyota head-on.
The teenager was ejected from the vehicle.
Steen was airlifted to Palmetto Richland with head and compound leg injuries. She is facing surgery for her leg injuries Friday morning.
Following his arrest Thursday night, Vaughn was transported to the Clarendon County Detention Center. He's scheduled for a bond hearing at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27.
Kelly said the accident is still under investigation.
