Harry Charles Simeral Sr., age 85, died Aug. 12, 2010, at a Sumter nursing facility, after an illness.
Born in Versailles, Pa., he was a son of the late Raymond L. and Mayme H. Castner Simeral. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a retired accounting clerk, having worked in the steel industry; a member of the VFW; and the Republican Congressional Committee.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Rebecca Simeral of Turbeville; a daughter, Cynthia (Ronnie) Driggers of Turbeville; a son, Harry Charles (Bobbi) Simeral Jr. of Turbeville; grandchildren, Shanna (Gary) Morgan of Turbeville, Shawn (Sara) Simeral of Virginia Beach, Va., and Justin Driggers of Florence; and great-grandchildren, Connor Morgan and Caden and Delaney Simeral.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church
Burial was in the church cemetery.
