Gary Dean Reinhart

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Gary Dean Reinhart, 74, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at home.

He was born in Neosho, Missouri and had resided in Newport News for the past thirty-two years.

    Mr. Reinhart retired from Allied Signal as Group Director of Material in 1987 after 30 years of service. He later retired from Flight International as Vice President of Administration in 1998 with 10 years of service.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Leigh Reinhart in 1977. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Mims Reinhart, formerly of Manning; a son, Gary Dean Reinhart, Jr., of Newport News; two daughters, Donna Reinhart, also of Newport News, and Deana (Joe) Sharland of Vero Beach, Fla; two grandchildren, Brandon Leigh Sharland of Alabama and Ryan Thomas Sharland, of Vero Beach; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Leigh Sharland, also of Alabama.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, in the Manning Cemetery.

Stephens Funeral Home and Crematory of Manning was in charge of local arrangements.
