Ethelda Driggers Defee

Ethelda Driggers Defee, age 74, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at a Florence hospital after an illness. Born in Clarendon County she was a daughter of the late William Henry Driggers and Flora Mae Boyce Driggers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Bert “H. B.” Defee; one brother, Hagood Driggers; one infant sister, Flora Mae “Jenny” Driggers.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Gardner (Leonard) of Turbeville; two sons, Kent Defee (Bridget) of Knoxville, Tenn., Lynn Defee of Irmo; five grandchildren, Jason Gardner, Matthew Gardner (Gina) all of Turbeville, Karsten, Calysta and Candyce Defee of Knoxville, Tenn.; one great-grandchild, Hannah Lynn Gardner of Turbeville.

A graveside service will be held at 3pm Tuesday, Oct, 9, 2012, at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home of Olanta. A visitation will be held after the service in the church sanctuary and other times at 1836 Pope Street.
