Ethel Virginia Prince Conyers

Ethel Virginia Prince Conyers, 79, widow of Learnest Conyers died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at her residence. She’s the daughter of the late Forton and Alvenia Canty Prince. She was born June 22, 1932, in the Foreston section of Clarendon County.

She attended the public schools of Clarendon County.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Pine Grove A.M.E. Church. After marriage and returning home she joined Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a member of the Usher Board, Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Manning Branch of NAACP.

Survivors are two sons, Bernard Conyers of Albany, N.Y.; and Learnest Conyers Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev.; one brother, David F. Prince of Baltimore, Md.; one sister Estelle Dukes of Baltimore, Md.; one devoted niece, Paulene (Roy) Prince and one devoted nephew Michael (Louise) Dukes both of Manning; one brother-in-law Deacon Alphonza (Julia) Conyers; four sisters-in-law, Jerlean Conyers, Bobbie (David) Walker, Diane (Raymond) York and Judy McCray; eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren.

Remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. with services at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 14362 Raccoon Road, Manning.

Burial is in State Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the home, 12035 Bloomville Road, Manning.
