Consistent scoring throughout the game contributed to the Scott’s Branch Eagles’ huge win against the Governor’s Science and Math Eagles, 56-24, Jan. 6, at home.

SBHS started out strong and ended strong against GSM with 10 points in the first quarter, 13 points in the second quarter, 20 points in the third quarter and finishing with 13 points in the fourth period.

Ten Eagles got into the scoring column for SBHS.

Traviant Riley led all SBHS scorers with 11 points, including three from long range, one rebound, four steals and two assists. Trashawn Jones scored nine points with three rebounds, one blocked shot, five steals and two assists. Shakei Green scored seven points with two rebounds, and one steal. Devin Brailsford had seven points, including one from three-point range, six rebounds, three steals and three assists. Bernard McDaniel scored five points with three rebounds and four steals. Robert Felder dropped in four points with two rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals. Sam Murry had two points with one rebound, one assist and two steals. Malcom Ragin scored six points with two rebounds and one blocked shot. Charlie Wright had five points with one steal. TyQuan Kennedy rounded out the scoring with two points, one blocked shot and one steal. Jamal Ingram had one rebound. Jay Shawn Junious had two rebounds, one blocked shot and two steals.

Scott’s Branch loses by 22 to Calhoun County

What a difference a day makes.

One day after soundly defeating Governor’s Science and Math by 32 points, Scott’s Branch loses big in an away game to Calhoun County, 67-45.

Calhoun County’s Saints pulled away in the first quarter in their game against SBHS and never looked back. In the first quarter, the Saints outscored the Eagles 20-14. At the end of the first half, the Eagles were behind 34-20. By the end of the third quarter, the Saints were up 54-31.

SBHS #14 Devin Brailsford led all Eagle scorers with 11 points, three rebounds, one steal and two assists. Trashawn Jones followed with eight points, seven rebounds, two steals and one assist. Four Eagles scored six points: Traviant Riley, Shakie Green, Robert Felder and TyQuan Kennedy. Felder had a big night on the boards with nine rebounds and eight blocked shots.
