Turbeville’s Dixie Angels All-Star 10-and-under softball team split two games in the double elimination, South Carolina State Softball Championship, July 7-8 in Hanahan.

On July 7, the Turbeville Dixie Angels defeated Walhalla, 8-7.

Turbeville’s Head Coach Robbie Springs said that his team did not start well in the game by walking a number of batters.

The Turbeville Dixie Angels were down 7-2 entering the bottom of the fifth inning. They scored three runs early in the fifth to close the gap to 7-5 before Madison Lee hit a game-winning home run with two runners on base to defeat Walhalla’s All-Stars, 8-7. 

The Turbeville Dixie Angels lost to Dentsville on July 8, 2-0.

Springs said that his team did not hit the ball well in this game and had several errors.

The loss to Dentsville brought Turbeville’s record to 1-1 in the state championship series.

Turbeville played Latta on July 9.
