Claudie Thomas “Tommy” McLeod, 60, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at his home in Sumter.
Born April 17, 1952, in Dunn, N.C., he was the son of Richard McLeod and the late Elizabeth Campbell McLeod. He attended Furman High School where he played football and baseball. He fully supported his Gamecocks.
He is survived by his father of Sumter; a son, Michael McLeod (Heather) of Sumter; a daughter, April Lawrence (Michael) of Dalzell; five grandchildren, Michael Henderson, Kyera and Jetta McLeod, Austin and Madison Lawrence; five brothers, Charlie, William, Jimmy, Jerry and Daryl McLeod; and six sisters, Ann, Brenda, Debra Kay, Janet, Susie and Cindy.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Elder John Cantwell officiating. Burial will follow in Poole Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesus Huerta, Danny Griffin, Adam Mooneyham, Chris Lawrence, Nathan Arrowood and Clay Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Lawrence and Allen McLeod.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service in the cultural hall of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
