The Clarendon Ponytails All-Star 12-and-under softball team won the District 3 Championship on June 29, outscoring their opponents in the five games, 63-7.

The Ponytails scored in double digits each game holding their opponents to a game-high three runs in the second game of the championship.

“They took care of business with a great defense and excellent batting,” said Head Coach Gary Elenbark. “Their motto was ‘PLAY FOR THE WALL.’ Now, these ladies will have a District 3 Championship sign on the wall at J.C. Britton Park in Manning.”

The Clarendon Ponytails will be playing in the State Championship Tournament July 13 through 19 in Turbeville.

“The ladies are ready to take on the next step in advancing to the Dixie Youth World Series,” Elenbark added. “I want everyone to come out and support your Clarendon County 12-and-under All-Stars.”

Game brackets and times for the State Championship in Turbeville will be posted on the town’s website, www.townofturbeville.com, as well as the Clarendon Citizen’s website, www.clarendoncitizen.com.
