Christopher O’Neil Burgess

Christopher O’Neil Burgess, 28, husband of Valerie Miller Burgess, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Wilson, N.C. He’s the son of Roy Lee and Bessie Pearson Burgess. He was born June 29, 1983, in Florence.

He attended East Clarendon High School, Turbeville.

Christopher was a member of the House of God #1 Holiness Church, Cades.

In 2003, he joined the U.S. Navy and served honorably. After his discharge, he began working for Sumter Pediatrics.

Survivors are his parents, Roy Lee and Bessie Burgess of Gable; wife, Valerie Miller Burgess of the home; five daughters, Dyamond and Jazmyne Burgess of the home, Kaitlyn C. Burgess of Columbia, Krsna Burgess of Manning and Kamarrie N. Fennell of Norfolk, Va.; one son, Cameron J. Burgess of Turbeville; three brothers, Devon McFadden, Julius Hampton and Justin Burgess; six adopted brothers and sisters; maternal grandparents, George and Almetta Pearson and paternal grandmother Marie Burgess.

Remains will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. with services at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at House of God # 1 Holiness Church, White Oak Road, Cades.

Bishop Amos Major, Pastor, Bishop Floyd Knowlin, Presiding assisting Apostle Wendell Fulmore.

Burial will follow in the White Oak No. 1 Cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the home, 2791 Farmington Road, Gable.
