After a very successful 9-1 season, Coach Casey Connors is very proud of his Saints and their performances during the season.
However, he is not ready to be done just yet. There are still three weeks left to play, hopefully, for the Saints to reach their goal of the state championship.
They continued to work hard this week getting ready to face Laurens in the first round of the playoffs. This is the second time they face Laurens this season, in Summerton this time.
Coach Connors said that while there was definitely some disappointment after last week’s heartbreaking six-point loss to Patrick Henry, he and the team are using that as a “gut check” and moving forward. They have learned from the things that were not so successful and are building on those things to continue to improve.
This week’s game promises to be another very physical and fast-paced game, much like last week’s match up with PHA. Laurens likes to throw the ball and Connors said that his defense is ready.
“I have a varied defense that can evolve quickly and change, based on what the other team does,” he said.
He said that he believes that his team has progressed a lot since they played Laurens earlier in the season and that the Saints have a greater arsenal of plays now both offensively and defensively to throw at the Crusaders this time around.
Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Robinson field. Other playoff games this week: James Island Christian at Wardlaw; Trinity Collegiate at Patrick Henry; Coastal Christian at W.W. King Academy.

okay pal... since you think you know everything, first of all patrick henry was losing to CH before half-time. 16-0, and PHA's offence finally found a way to beat the CH defence by 6 points.. wow so they got lucky, and i also love how your predictions of CHS playoff game worked out for you haha... NOT!, and they did NOT wipp CH all over the feild, PHA had boys going off the feild left and right because they, they couldnt take the beating from CHS players.
First of all, this article makes it sound like CH barely got beaten by PHA last week. The game wasn't NEARLY as close as the score indicated. PHA whipped them all over the field for 4 quarters. As for Connors "varied defenses", I call bull on that. He knows his pass defense has been terrible all season, he has yet to correct it, teams have exposed his weakness but only PHA had the atheletes to pull it off. He will not make the adjustments because he doesn't know what adjustments to make! The guy will get bounced out of the playoffs in the first round yet again this year, as he always does whenever his team plays a big game. CH needs to find themselves a new coach, whos record was 35-37 in 7 years prior to this season. Laurens will beat CH tonight.
