Bernard McFadden, 54, husband of Elizabeth Ann Woods McFadden, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at McLeod Hospital, Florence. He was born March 24, 1958, in Manning, a son of Fred McFadden and Rosa Lee Burgess McFadden.
He was a member of Oak Grove A.M.E. Church, Lake City.
He received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County and was a graduate of East Clarendon High School, class of 1976. He served in the Army National Guard.
He was employed with Poole Bulldog, Glasscock Trucking, Smith Graving and Paving, APEC and Plowden Construction companies.
Survivors are his parents, Fred and Rose Lee Burgess McFadden; two children, Bryon McFadden and Joseph Wood; his siblings, Willie M. (Linda) Burgess, Letroy (Donna) McFadden, Hattie A. McFadden, Larry (Brenda) Montgomery, Freddy (Carol) McFadden, Timothy L. McFadden, Naomi J. McFadden and Thomasina M. Greene; one sister-in-law, Maureen McFadden; six aunts, Ozella Burgess, Josephine McFadden, Almetta Pearson, Edith (Moses) Green, Vela Mae (Rev. Roy) Evans and Susie M. Burgess.
Remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012, at Oak Grove A.M.E. Church, Lake City.

Burial will follow in Old McFadden Cemetery, Turbeville.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his parents, 2191 Williams Gibbons Rd., Turbeville.
