Audrey McLeod Alford, 86, widow of Howard Alford, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at McElveen Manor.
Born in Pinewood, she was a daughter of the late James Wilson McLeod and Mary Dawkins McLeod.
Mrs. Alford was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and she was a former employee of Big Star Grocery Store.
Surviving are three sons, Mike Alford and wife Debby, Ricky Alford and Kenneth Alford all of Sumter; one daughter, Marianne A. Jeffords and husband Reuben of Sumter; five sisters, Janet M. Trembley, Thelma M. McLeod, Geraldine Timmons all of Sumter, Kathleen Roberson of Augusta, Ga. and Barbara Morris of Manning; six grandchildren, James Alford, Meredith A. West, Ginnie Spiegel, Wendi Lavina, Andrew Squires and Patrick Squires; seven great-grandchildren, Lorianne Spiegel, Malorie Spiegel, Carnes Spiegel, Cannon West, Drew Squires, Kole Squires, and Sawyer Lavina.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill McLeod and Pete McLeod; and a sister, Ruth Bartlette.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stuart Mizelle officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 2416 Toxaway Drive.
