Alvilder S. Robinson

Alvilder Singletary “Biddie” Robinson, 88, widow of Harold Richard Robinson, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 11, 1921, in the Sandy Ridge community of Berkeley County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Flora Lee Myers Singletary. She was a member of Summerton United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Helen Bass of Summerton; a son, Harold M. Robinson and wife, Edna, of Summerton; a brother, Everett Singletary and wife, Christine, of Hollywood; two sisters, Hazel S. Rast and husband, Milton, and Valerie Gleason, all of Charleston; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Wayne Robinson.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home in Manning with the Revs. Bob Allen and Randy Bowers officiating. Burial followed in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ron Smithwick, Ron Dodson, Ron Cox, Lee Robinson, Freddie Mitchum and Chris Mitchum.
