On Jan. 31, Manning Police Cpl. Creighton Cheek and Cpl. Melissa Buck responded to Dickson Street in reference to an aggressive dog complaint. The complainant told the officers that when she arrived home a brown dog came up to her vehicle and would not let her or her children out of the car. The woman stated that the dog was currently in the neighbor’s yard. The officers reported seeing three dogs in the neighbor’s yard and that when they approached the animals, the dogs began coming toward the officers, growling and barking. The woman told the officers that the dogs have chased her children on other occasions. When one of the officers ran toward the dogs, they ran away. The woman was advised to call animal control.
